Requirements
Must:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active TOP SECRET security clearance
- Over 6 years of relevant experience in DevOps, systems engineering, or a similar domain
- In-depth practical knowledge of Kubernetes, including cluster setup, workload deployment, and troubleshooting
- Proficient in Linux system administration with a focus on networking, storage, and service management across various distributions
- Proven track record in writing and managing Ansible playbooks for infrastructure automation and application deployment
- Experience in establishing and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and/or GitHub Actions
- Hands-on expertise in containerizing applications with Docker or equivalent tools
- Capability to operate effectively in offline or air-gapped settings without access to external registries or cloud services
- Strong written communication skills with a focus on creating clear technical documentation
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage Ansible playbooks and roles to automate the setup and configuration of Kubernetes clusters, containerized workloads, and KubeVirt virtual machines on specialized server hardware
- Containerize applications and oversee container image creation, versioning, and distribution in environments without internet access
- Construct and uphold CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitLab CI and/or GitHub Actions to facilitate iterative software delivery across multiple projects
- Collaborate closely with systems engineers to comprehend hardware and environmental limitations and convert them into automated deployment workflows
- Diagnose deployment, networking, storage, and configuration challenges across the entire application stack in isolated environments
- Support the integration of application data streams into big data platforms, enhancing pipeline tools like Apache NiFi or similar ETL frameworks
- Participate in system hardening and STIG compliance initiatives as part of deployment and configuration processes
- Create and update clear technical documentation, including deployment guides, runbooks, and architectural notes
