Must:
- Bachelors degree in physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
- Over 6 years of professional software engineering experience
- Practical experience with microservice architectures and distributed system design
- Strong command of Python and Pytest
- Professional exposure to the Linux operating system and code management systems like git
- Proven understanding of essential software engineering principles, design patterns, and modular design
- Dedication to producing high-quality code, thorough testing, and ongoing improvement
- Ability to work on-site in Boulder, CO
- Capability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
- Proven ability to collaborate across disciplines
- Detail-oriented mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our team to develop top-notch software features that align with project objectives
- Coordinate with advanced technical users on scientific and analysis goals
- Contribute to the development, deployment, and testing of end-to-end containerization and distributed microservice frameworks
- Establish and maintain reliable real-time data processing workflows and messaging libraries
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, encouraging solid engineering practices and professional growth
- Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies to achieve program objectives
- Lead Agile development processes, including code reviews, architectural discussions, and sprint planning
- Advocate for comprehensive testing practices, including unit, integration, and system testing
- Uphold code quality, clarity, and maintainability in line with current Python standards
- Support documentation efforts, knowledge sharing, and effective communication within the organization
- Perform other assigned tasks as necessary
