Requirements

Must:
We require that candidates be eligible to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance. A Bachelor's Degree in a technical field is essential, along with a minimum of 10 years of pertinent work experience in systems engineering, software engineering, or remote sensing. Additionally, at least 5 years of experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering is expected, as well as proficiency in at least one programming language. We value attention to detail, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with these skills: - A current SECRET security clearance; a current TOP SECRET clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information is advantageous. - Previous experience with the Cameo/MagicDraw suite of tools, especially with custom scripting and tooling. - Familiarity with several modeling standards, including SysML 1.x, DoDAF, UAF, SysML 2.x, and UML, along with knowledge of language standards and metamodels. - Proficiency in multiple programming languages, particularly in Java, JavaScript, Python, or Groovy. - Understanding of contemporary software development practices, including the use of version control (e.g., Git), unit testing, and continuous integration and delivery. - Academic qualifications or industry certification (e.g., INCOSE) in systems engineering. - Outstanding oral and written communication skills. - Experience with the design or operation of space-based sensor systems, ground segments, or exploitation tools; familiarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared sensor systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Digital Systems Engineer at our Boulder, CO office, I will be responsible for the development of style guides and best practices for representing system requirements, architectures, and behaviors in SysML. I will train fellow SciTec staff on these best practices. Additionally, I will design, develop, and maintain domain-specific metamodels and profiles that extend standard SysML to better model the SciTec mission domain. My responsibilities will also include creating software, scripts, and validation suites to embed business logic within a SysML modeling environment, as well as tools to generate reports from SysML environments and integrate model data with other SciTec business processes. I will support the documentation of operational concepts, stakeholder needs, system requirements, and system architectures using Model-Based Systems Engineering tools. Furthermore, I will assist with staff mentoring and process improvement within our systems engineering team. Other tasks may be assigned as necessary.
