Requirements
Must:
- I hold a Master's degree in Computer Science, Animation, Game Design, or a related field, or possess a Master's degree and 18 graduate credit hours in the aforementioned disciplines.
- I have experience and proficiency in teaching courses using programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, and Python.
- I understand the significance of the gaming industry in contemporary society.
- I demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- I possess the capability to create dynamic and effective learning environments catering to students from diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- I will teach a full-time, in-person course load of 15 credit hours per semester in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, and Programming in Game Development.
- I will coordinate program offerings and facilitate partnerships aimed at expanding the Gaming Design and Implementation program.
- I will ensure that the curriculum remains updated and relevant by incorporating innovative ideas and practices.
- I will hold regularly scheduled office hours to offer support to students.
Description
At SUNY Schenectady County Community College, located in the vibrant Capital Region of upstate New York, I am eager to welcome a Computer Science Instructor into our Division of Mathematics, Science, Technology, and Health. This full-time position reports directly to the Dean of the division. The ideal candidate will have professional experience in 2D and 3D environments, bringing a vast array of technical and creative skills to the classroom. I value candidates who can enrich the learning experience through direct industry experience and am excited to offer opportunities to teach additional courses for extra compensation. My compensation package includes a salary of $49,978 along with comprehensive health care, dental, and vision coverage, retirement options, and numerous professional development opportunities.
