Requirements
Must:
- Proficiency in at least one major web programming language (e.g., HTML, ASP.NET, PHP, JavaScript)
- Experience with the WIMP web stack (Windows, IIS, MySQL, PHP)
- Familiarity with the Drupal content management system
- Knowledge of relational database design and management
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software development
- Experience in local government or public sector IT environments
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and efficient software applications to support departmental functions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze user requirements and convert business needs into technical specifications
- Implement enhancements, address bug fixes, and facilitate integrations for both new and existing systems
- Create and update detailed technical documentation, including user guides, in-code comments, and system architecture diagrams to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing
- Conduct testing, debugging, and performance tuning to guarantee optimal functionality of applications
- Assist with data management and reporting initiatives that underpin operational analytics and compliance
- Ensure adherence to office policies and accessibility standards
- Engage in project planning and provide estimates for development tasks
- Offer technical support and training to end-users and staff as required
