Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field - Masters Degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline preferred - Ph.D. in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline preferred - At least 3 years of analytics experience in the Financial Services sector required - A minimum of 3 years experience in Indirect subprime Auto Financial Services preferred - Over 3 years of experience developing credit scoring models preferred - Familiarity with logistic regression models, segmentation, variable reduction techniques, hypothesis testing, neural networks, design of experiments, ANOVA, decision trees, and linear regression - Previous experience with credit bureau data is strongly preferred - Proficiency in Python or SAS, SQL - Proven ability to utilize SQL and Python for data extraction across multiple sources - Skills in merging and preparing large datasets for statistical analysis and model development - Competence in creating complex pivot tables in MS Excel - Capability to clearly communicate advanced mathematical concepts to a business audience - Ability to transform analysis data into actionable business plans - Strong written and verbal communication abilities - Commitment to maintaining confidentiality

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain complex empirical models, including credit scoring models for a nonprime auto lender - Construct sophisticated mathematical models to support critical decision-making processes - Formulate the theoretical basis, empirical justification, and conceptual soundness of statistical models - Analyze trends and identify risks and opportunities using statistical techniques - Utilize internal and external data sources for model development datasets - Ensure modeling projects comply with established policies and standard practices - Communicate modeling requirements to the Director of Quantitative Modeling - Review department procedures for accuracy and integrity - Employ data mining and statistical methods to generate analytic insights and sound hypotheses - Summarize analytic findings into executive-level documents for senior management - Collaborate with IT and other internal teams to define data requirements and ensure timely project completion - Provide necessary information to support independent model validation initiatives - Gain a comprehensive understanding of the firms operations and business practices - Assist in Model Validation and documentation of models per internal policies and Federal Reserve regulations
