Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology Management or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Over 9 years of experience in IT Security
- More than 9 years of experience working as a Security Architect
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity architecture within the financial services sector or similarly regulated environments
- Proven track record of operating within a shift-left security model, collaborating with development and business teams
- In-depth knowledge of encryption technologies, including PKI architecture and governance, HSM management, certificate lifecycle automation, key management systems (KMS), TLS, mTLS, IPSec, and database encryption
- Experience in designing secure architectures in cloud platforms, primarily AWS
- Strong background in conducting threat modeling and architecture risk assessments
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks like FFIEC IT Examination Handbook, GLBA Safeguards Rule, NYDFS 23 NYCRR 500, PCI-DSS, NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), NIST SP 800-53 and 800-57, ISO/IEC 27001 and 27002
Responsibilities
- Perform threat modeling, conduct security design reviews, and lead cybersecurity architecture risk assessments (ISARs)
- Define and uphold enterprise security architecture in alignment with business strategy, policies, and reference architecture for cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments
- Integrate security controls early in the project lifecycle using a shift-left approach by collaborating with engineering, product, and business teams to transform risk into actionable design requirements
- Architect and supervise encryption strategies for data at rest, in transit, and in use, including PKI, HSM, and certificate lifecycle processes (issuance, rotation, revocation, automation, and PKI governance)
- Set cryptographic key management standards and supervise key custody models
- Ensure that architectural practices comply with regulatory and supervisory expectations
- Assist with regulatory examinations, audits, and control validation activities
