Requirements
Must:
- I am seeking an undergraduate student who is expected to graduate between December 2026 and May/June 2027.
- My ideal candidate will be studying Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
- I look for individuals who demonstrate intellectual curiosity and bravery.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
- I value analytical thinkers with a keen attention to detail.
- Candidates should be organized and capable of managing time and multiple tasks efficiently.
- It is important for applicants to be able to work independently on special projects and contribute effectively to a team environment.
- While not required, familiarity with relational database management software and experience with Microsoft Office products would be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- As a Database Administrator intern, I will have you create and maintain databases for testing, development, and production environments.
- You will analyze, test, and implement physical database designs.
- I expect you to document the environment and keep current patches up to date.
- Ensuring data recovery, maintenance, data integrity, and space requirements for the physical database will be part of your role, which involves formulating and monitoring policies, procedures, and standards for database management.
- You will audit current environments, provide capacity planning, and recommend best practices for future production, development, and test environments, potentially leading to the establishment of new standards and procedures.
- Conducting performance assessments and tuning related to the database system will be essential.
- You will provide technical knowledge while collaborating with system administrators, technical managers, developers, and architects.
