Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing of web applications, as well as testing desktop software and third-party service integrations.
- Proficient in writing code with JavaScript/TypeScript, with familiarity in additional languages such as PHP, C#/.NET, and Python.
- Experience with automation frameworks like Cypress, Selenium, or WebdriverIO.
- Strong technical skills in Linux or macOS environments, including daily use of the Linux command line for basic operations.
- An understanding of Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines, with experience using tools like Jira for task and bug tracking.
- Excellent communication abilities, with a talent for managing QA from project kickoff to delivery and the capability to prioritize tasks and align with project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product and Development teams early in the process to understand feature scope, clarify requirements, and contribute input on whether solutions should be uniform across integrations or feature-specific.
- Develop clear, structured manual test cases and conduct impact analysis for various types of testing, including regression, acceptance, integration, exploratory, and edge case testing.
- Engage in pair testing with developers and assist them in incorporating quality checks and exploratory testing practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Maintain and enhance our existing end-to-end automation framework in TypeScript, working closely with developers to pinpoint test gaps and recommending unit or integration tests as necessary.
- Adapt to unplanned testing tasks and work with developers to ensure features are validated during the development phase.
- Keep test documentation updated and easily accessible, ensuring alignment among stakeholders. This includes documentation for new features, existing functionality, and regression suites that serve as reference for new functionality.
- Troubleshoot issues across different application layers and collaborate effectively with developers and product managers to clarify requirements and identify risks early.
Description
Join our collaborative Accounts Payable software development team as an Intermediate Quality Software Engineer, working remotely within Canada. We utilize advanced technology stacks, including PHP, TypeScript, and C#.NET, to build a robust platform consisting of web-based applications on React/GraphQL frameworks, a desktop utility that syncs Windows-based customer data, and an in-house React Native app that provides mobile access to data for iOS and Android users. Our environment is fully hosted on AWS and promotes a DevOps culture focused on achieving CI/CD excellence. We value strong communication skills and ownership, seeking candidates who can prioritize tasks effectively and manage QA from start to finish. Compensation is competitive, ranging from $45 to $50 per hour based on experience, with a planned schedule from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM PST, Monday through Friday. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with options for payroll, independent contracting, or Corporation to Corporation (C2C) engagement.
