Requirements
Must:
- I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (a Master’s degree is preferred).
- I have over 15 years of experience in software engineering, including at least 5 years in a leadership position.
- I possess deep expertise in software development, particularly in object-oriented design, UML, and embedded systems.
- I am proficient in programming languages such as C/C++, Java, and tools like VS Code, DOORS, Git, SVN, and PTC Integrity Modeler.
- I have experience with various development methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and Spiral.
Responsibilities
- I will lead and nurture a Software Engineering team dedicated to achieving technical, program, and business goals.
- I will set clear objectives aligned with business priorities and oversee performance reviews, compensation planning, and career advancement.
- I will cultivate management and technical talent by identifying, developing, and implementing suitable development plans.
- I will promote a culture of ongoing learning through mentorship and by creating growth opportunities.
- I will recruit and allocate engineers to fulfill project and business requirements.
- I will plan team capacity and establish long-term staffing strategies.
In terms of project and resource management, I will ensure accountability for the establishment of precise cost and schedule targets and the execution of technical efforts in compliance with those targets. This includes aligning team activities with program schedules, budgets, and deliverables, providing accurate cost estimates for proposals and programs, monitoring progress, and adjusting resources accordingly to meet project milestones. I will also support contract negotiations and program planning.
As for technical leadership, I will provide oversight and program support for Software Engineering, drive technical strategy, contribute to software architecture and design, and collaborate with Systems, Firmware, Hardware, and Test Engineering to validate cohesive design and requirements. I will evaluate technical risks and implement mitigation strategies while supporting technology road maps and innovation plans.
In my role as a champion for quality and process improvement, I will advocate for best practices and enhancements in software development, ensure adherence to quality standards, and maintain modern toolsets for efficient team workflows.

The compensation range for this position is between $161,700 and $218,300. This range serves as a general guideline; when extending an offer, I will consider various factors such as the role's responsibilities, location, market conditions, and the candidate’s experience, skills, and education. I must note that candidates must be U.S. citizens. Selected applicants may be subjected to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for accessing classified information.
