Requirements

Must:
- I possess a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or I have equivalent experience. - I have a minimum of 5 years of experience in IT. - I have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Tier 2 IT Helpdesk role or a similar technical support position. - I have a proven record of diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues. - I have experience managing: - Active Directory - Networking (DNS, DHCP, VLAN) - VMware and Hyper-V - Office/Microsoft 365 - Google Workspace - Microsoft Exchange - Windows and Linux Server OS Management - VOIP support (optional) - I have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - I communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally. - I have proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell), which is a plus. - I am self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong work ethic. - I can work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. - I am customer service focused and committed to providing exceptional support. - I am eager to learn and adapt to new technologies. - I possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

- I am responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical issues by responding to helpdesk tickets and calls. - I troubleshoot complex issues across workstations, networks, servers, and a variety of software applications. - I address advanced network connectivity issues. - I implement effective solutions to prevent issues or restore functionality, minimizing downtime. - I meticulously document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and create knowledge base articles for future reference. - I collaborate with third-party vendors to troubleshoot issues, coordinate solutions, or execute projects. - I maintain a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, which includes hardware, software, networking, and security principles. - I configure and manage network equipment, such as firewalls, routers, and managed switches. - I manage and configure virtual and physical Windows and Linux servers. - I offer technology advice and technical training to internal staff and clients. - I stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices within the industry. - I work effectively under pressure and utilize remote support tools when necessary. - I provide exceptional customer service to internal and external clients via phone, email, and remote desktop support. - I communicate technical information clearly and concisely to users with various levels of technical expertise while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. - I take ownership of my work, proactively seek areas for improvement, and lead the expansion of IT support services into new territories, including researching needs, developing a rollout plan, and leading the implementation process.

Description


In this role, I will play a crucial part in the company's future plans by shaping how we deliver IT support. I will help plan and implement the technical aspects of our expansion into a new area, research and recommend hardware, software, and network solutions for the new location, and assist in setting up IT infrastructure to ensure a smooth transition. I will be expected to stand or walk periodically, work after hours when necessary, bend, squat, climb ladders, and lift various weights occasionally, including up to 50 pounds. The work schedule includes a full-time commitment with the possibility of post-business hours as needed, Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM CST, with a flexible Saturday. Bonus points if I have experience in web programming (WordPress, PHP, JavaScript, etc.), in a fast-paced, customer-service-oriented environment, or hold relevant certifications like Net+, Security+, or other industry certifications. Experience with cybersecurity or project management methodologies will also be advantageous.
