Requirements
Must:
- 7+ years of extensive hands-on experience in System Administration.
- In-depth knowledge of networking principles including OSI, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, routing, switching, and firewalls.
- Proficient in managing datacenter environments, particularly in power, rack space, and AC configurations.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Windows Operating System, encompassing application servers, database software, and deployment technologies.
- Experience in building and maintaining servers.
- Familiarity with Virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Proficient with Storage Area Networks like NetApp, EqualLogic, EMC, and Nimble.
- Skilled in designing, implementing, and maintaining Data Backup and Recovery solutions, including off-site backups.
- Conduct proactive monitoring of network and systems performance, taking necessary corrective actions.
- Manage network upgrades, hardware refreshes, as well as OS/software upgrades and patching.
- Scripting expertise in VB, Batch, WSH, PowerShell, or Python.
- Experience with deployment and maintenance of monitoring, analysis, and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of Remote Access Technologies, including Citrix, RDP, SSH, and SplashTop.
- Working understanding of network security protocols such as VPNs, ACLs, IPSEC, SSL, and TLS.
- Strong background in Exchange, Office 365, Domain Controller, and Active Directory.
- Familiarity with Sophos Antivirus or similar enterprise software solutions.
- Understanding of spam filtering technologies and email troubleshooting.
- Capable of ensuring a stable and reliable production environment, including problem diagnostics and fault analysis across the entire stack.
- Design and implement infrastructure, wireless, and surveillance solutions for business operations.
- Ability to assess new technologies and propose hardware replacements or additions.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies driven by business needs.
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside standard business hours.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the overall production infrastructure while ensuring its reliability.
- Install and configure network equipment, servers, and communication links.
- Troubleshoot network issues and provide effective solutions.
- Monitor the performance of systems and networks daily, taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Perform network upgrades and refresh hardware as needed.
- Execute OS/software updates and patch systems for security.
- Script and automate routine tasks using various programming languages.
- Support the deployment and upkeep of monitoring and reporting tools.
- Manage remote access technologies to facilitate connectivity.
- Ensure the security of network systems through best practices and protocols.
- Collaborate in problem diagnosis and repairs across servers, switches, routers, and other hardware.
- Design and implement efficient infrastructure solutions for business processes.
- Evaluate and recommend updates or replacements for existing technologies.
- Adapt quickly to new technologies in response to organizational requirements.
- Occasionally work outside of standard hours to address urgent system needs.
