Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree or Masters in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- At least five (5) years of experience in information security
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in information security operations
- Current security certifications, such as CISSP, CEH, or SANS GIAC (preferred)
- Oracle Certified Professional - Oracle Database Security Expert (preferred)
- Knowledge in computer forensics (preferred)
- Familiarity with cyber security risk management and assessment methodologies (preferred)
- Understanding of AWS and cloud infrastructure (preferred)
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending English clearly and professionally
- Demonstrated expertise in database management and database security
- Experience with security scan assessment tools for Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, or similar databases
- Knowledge of preventative measures against security exploits and how to respond to security incidents
- Expert understanding of forensic methodologies for investigating intrusions and preserving evidence
- Advanced knowledge of database management and security standards and cyber security frameworks
- Proven experience in managing information security incidents for complex networks
- Strong leadership skills to collaborate across functions and drive results
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including presentation skills
- Understanding of file storage systems like block filesystems, NFS, and S3
- Problem-solving capabilities, adaptable to competing priorities and change
Responsibilities
- Design and implement queries and use cases to monitor relevant system and application log data for potential security events
- Lead the security incident response lifecycle for cybersecurity incidents involving company databases and services
- Provide timely updates to security management in accordance with the Incident Response Plan
- Integrate and maintain scanning services with SEIM, ASPM, and vulnerability management systems
- Collect and analyze threat intelligence data from various sources relevant to company networks and systems
- Proactively search for and identify security threats and vulnerabilities impacting databases and services
- Develop security counter-measures in collaboration with relevant teams
- Formulate and recommend security policies, standards, and configurations to the security governance committee
- Conduct advanced forensic analysis and data evidence collection for critical security events
- Recommend, design, and implement security systems and tools for database protection
- Manage security scanning infrastructure and provide mentorship and support to team members
- Establish security requirements for new projects and conduct security testing before deployment
- Ensure compliance with security protocols, policies, and industry regulations
