Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors Degree or Masters in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience - Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Information Security - At least four (4) years of experience in Information Security operations - Current security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or SANS GIAC (preferred) - Oracle Certified Professional - Oracle Database Security Expert (preferred) - Knowledge of Cyber Security Risk Management and assessment methodologies (preferred) - Understanding of AWS and cloud infrastructure (preferred) - Strong proficiency in English for clear communication - Demonstrated knowledge in database management or security - Experience with security scan assessment tools for various databases including Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL - Expertise in forensic methodologies to investigate security incidents and preserve evidence - Advanced knowledge in database management, security standards, and cyber security frameworks - Proven experience in managing security incidents for large networks - Strong leadership capabilities to work collaboratively across teams - Excellent written and verbal communication, including presentation skills - Understanding of file storage systems like block filesystems, NFS, and S3 - Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changes

Responsibilities

- Lead and manage security engineering tasks aimed at monitoring, detecting, and alerting potential security threats and vulnerabilities in database and application software systems - Design and implement queries and utilize use cases to correlate security-relevant log data and generate alerts or reports on potential security events - Guide the security incident response lifecycle for any cybersecurity-related events impacting our databases and services - Provide timely updates to security management in accordance with our Incident Response Plan - Integrate and maintain scanning services with SEIM, ASPM, and vulnerability management systems - Implement and monitor threat intelligence data from relevant resources that affect our networks and systems - Proactively identify and hunt for security threats and vulnerabilities affecting our databases and services - Develop and coordinate security countermeasures with relevant teams - Formulate and suggest security policies, standards, and configurations to the governance committee - Perform advanced forensic analysis and data evidence gathering for critical security incidents - Recommend, design, and implement security systems and tools aimed at database security - Manage security scanning infrastructure and mentor others in system support - Draft security requirements for new initiatives and conduct security testing prior to production rollout - Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and procedures - Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations related to our industry as necessary
