Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- At least five (5) years of experience in information security
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in information security operations
- Current security certifications, such as CISSP, CEH, or SANS GIAC, preferred
- Expertise in Oracle Database Security Management
- Familiarity with cyber security risk management and assessment methodologies
- Understanding of AWS and cloud infrastructure concepts
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English clearly and professionally
- Comprehensive knowledge of database management or security
- Experience with security scanning tools for various databases (Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
- Strong understanding of forensic methodologies and best practices
- Advanced ability in database management and administration
- Familiar with industry security standards and cyber security frameworks
- Proven experience in managing security events within complex networks
- Effective leadership skills and ability to collaborate across functions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities
- Understanding of file storage systems, including block filesystems and cloud storage
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, with an ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to rapid changes.
Responsibilities
- Drive security engineering efforts focused on monitoring, detecting, and alerting regarding potential security threats and vulnerabilities in company systems
- Design and develop queries and use cases to correlate application and system log data, generating alerts for potential security incidents
- Oversee the security incident response lifecycle for cyber security events that impact Charter’s database and services
- Provide timely updates to security management per the company’s Incident Response Plan
- Integrate and maintain scanning services with SIEM, ASPM, and vulnerability management systems
- Monitor and utilize threat intelligence data relevant to the organization’s networks
- Proactively search for security threats and vulnerabilities affecting organization databases and services
- Coordinate the implementation of security counter-measures with relevant teams
- Develop and recommend security policies, standards, and operational configurations
- Conduct advanced forensic analysis and evidence collection for significant security incidents
- Recommend, design, and implement security systems and tools for database security
- Manage security scanning infrastructure and mentor peers in management practices
- Create security requirements for new projects and conduct security testing prior to launch
- Ensure compliance with security protocols, policies, and applicable regulations.
