Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors Degree or Masters in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience - Minimum five (5) years of experience in information security - At least four (4) years of experience in information security operations - Current security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or SANS GIAC preferred - Oracle Certified Professional - Oracle Database Security Expert preferred - Knowledge in computer forensics and cyber security risk management methodologies preferred - Familiarity with AWS and cloud infrastructure preferred - Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking) - Demonstrated expertise in database management or database security - Experience with security scanning assessment tools for various databases (Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL) - Expert knowledge of forensic methodologies and best practices - Advanced knowledge of database management and administration - Comprehensive understanding of security standards and cyber security frameworks - Proven experience in managing security events for complex networks - Exceptional leadership qualities with a track record of collaborative problem-solving - Strong written and verbal communication capabilities - Understanding of file storage systems such as block filesystems, NFS, S3 - Problem-solving abilities and capability to manage competing priorities - Strong process orientation and adaptability to rapid changes

Responsibilities

- Drive security engineering initiatives that monitor, identify, and alert on potential security threats and vulnerabilities within company systems - Collaborate closely with database administrators and technical operations teams to manage incident response and remediation efforts - Design and implement queries and use cases to analyze security-relevant system and application log data - Lead the security incident response lifecycle for any cybersecurity incidents affecting company databases and services - Provide timely updates to management in accordance with the incident response plan - Integrate and maintain scanning services with SEIM, ASPM, and vulnerability management systems - Conduct proactive security threat and vulnerability hunting impacting company databases and services - Develop and coordinate security countermeasures with relevant departments - Formulate and advise on security policies, standards, and configurations for governance - Undertake advanced forensic analyses and evidence gathering for critical security incidents - Recommend, design, and implement security systems and tools for database security - Oversee security scanning infrastructure and provide mentorship to team members - Develop security requirements for new projects and conduct security testing prior to production deployment - Ensure adherence to security standards, policies, and procedures - Comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations
