Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree or Masters in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in Information Security
- At least four (4) years in Information Security Operations
- Current security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or SANS GIAC are preferred
- Oracle Certified Professional - Oracle Database Security Expert is a plus
- Knowledge of computer forensics, Cyber Security Risk Management, and assessment methodologies
- Familiarity with AWS and cloud infrastructure
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English clearly and professionally
- Demonstrated expertise in database management and security
- Experience with security assessment tools for Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational and NoSQL databases
- Strong understanding of detecting security exploits, attacks, and responding to incidents
- Expert knowledge of forensic methodologies for investigating intrusions
- Advanced understanding of database management and security standards
- Proven experience in managing information security incidents in complex networks
- Strong leadership skills and ability to collaborate across functions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with effective presentation capabilities
- Understanding of file storage systems like block filesystems, NFS, and S3
- Problem-solving abilities with a focus on managing competing priorities and complexity
Responsibilities
- Drive security engineering activities to monitor, detect, and alert on potential security threats and vulnerabilities in company systems
- Design and implement queries and use cases to correlate security-relevant log data for potential security events
- Lead the security incident response lifecycle for cybersecurity events related to databases and services
- Provide timely updates to security management in accordance with the Incident Response Plan
- Integrate and maintain scanning services with SEIM, ASPM, and vulnerability management systems
- Monitor and maintain threat intelligence data relevant to the companys networks and systems
- Proactively hunt for security threats and vulnerabilities affecting company databases and services
- Develop and coordinate the implementation of security countermeasures with relevant teams
- Recommend and establish security policies, standards, and configurations for governance
- Conduct advanced forensic analysis and gather data evidence for critical security incidents
- Design, implement, and manage security systems and tools for Database Security
- Mentor others on security scanning infrastructure management and provide ongoing support
- Establish security requirements for new projects and conduct security testing prior to production
- Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and procedures
- Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations relevant to the role
