Requirements
Must:
- Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
- At least five (5) years of military/DoD experience in creating orders, plans, annexes, and appendices according to DoD Joint planning guidance
- Demonstrated experience with the Joint Planning Process (JPP) and knowledge of operational-level planning constructs
- Proven ability to work autonomously in fast-paced, mission-focused environments with minimal supervision
- Experience in coordinating with multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in producing planning documentation and briefing senior leadership
- Preferred: Eligible for a Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph (CSP)
- Preferred: Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a staff member at a Combatant Command (CCMD) or similar organizations supporting plans or operations
- Preferred: Minimum of three (3) years of program or project management experience, including leadership of diverse teams of five (5) or more personnel
- Preferred: Minimum of three (3) years of experience developing briefings and papers for senior leadership such as General Officers (GO), Flag Officers (FO), and Senior Executive Service (SES)
- Preferred: Experience with special activities and information operations (IO) or influence campaigns
- Familiarity with USSOCOM J39 structures and Special Activities Branch (SAB) processes
- Knowledge of targeting processes and campaign assessment frameworks
- Prior experience in deployed or forward operational environments
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the planning and execution of operations by drafting and maintaining relevant policies and regulatory documents
- Operate independently to meet mission objectives with minimal oversight
- Assist in organizing conferences, working groups, and other meetings
- Provide advice to senior leadership on matters concerning J39-SAB planning efforts
- Customize planning initiatives to align with mission goals and organizational needs
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure the successful execution of special activities
- Develop, review, and maintain operational plans (OPLANs), contingency plans (CONPLANs), and orders (OPORDs) as per Joint Planning Process (JPP) and DoD guidance
- Integrate special activities and information operations into broader operational strategies
- Coordinate planning efforts across Combatant Commands (CCMDs), Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), Joint Task Forces (JTFs), and interagency partners
- Provide expertise for campaign planning and operational design within the Operational Information Environment (OIE)
- Facilitate and lead planning sessions, ensuring alignment among all parties involved
- Prepare and present briefings, decision support materials, and planning updates for senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with classification, OPSEC, and relevant authorities in planning documents
- Support rapid planning cycles and handle time-sensitive operational needs in a dynamic environment
