Requirements
Must:
- Experience providing technical support in an educational setting, particularly in elementary education (kindergarten through 5th grade).
- Strong knowledge of standard hardware, operating systems, and educational technological tools.
- Capability to independently troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, adaptable, customer-focused, and solution-oriented attitude.
- Familiarity with Google Workspaces, state and district assessment platforms, learning management systems, or similar technologies (preferred).
- Basic understanding of networking principles (preferred).
- Interest in supporting technology used in educational environments (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site assistance for all school technology, including laptops, Chromebooks, iPads, interactive boards, document cameras, printers, and audio/visual gear.
- Conduct routine maintenance and support for the school phone system, working closely with our third-party contractor.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity problems in both classrooms and offices, coordinating with our external IT provider as necessary.
- Manage basic printer upkeep, including clearing jams, changing toner, and helping users with login and access issues while coordinating with suppliers for stock replenishment and service requests.
- Address technology concerns swiftly to minimize disruptions in instruction.
- Oversee basic network troubleshooting in partnership with district or external IT teams.
- Set up, maintain, and track student and staff devices.
- Facilitate device check-in/check-out, repairs, replacements, and system updates.
- Assist in creating accounts and managing access for students and staff on various platforms (email, learning tools, passwords, etc.).
- Maintain documentation, logs, service desk tickets, and asset tracking for technology.
- Aid teachers in the effective deployment of classroom technology and instructional tools.
- Support students and staff with educational software and digital tools utilized in the classroom.
- Provide basic coaching to staff regarding both new and existing technological resources.
- Assist in meeting the technological requirements during assessments and testing.
- Conduct educational initiatives for students related to technology throughout the school year.
- Ensure technology readiness for state and district assessments.
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and support personnel to fulfill technology needs.
- Communicate effectively with individuals of varying technical skills.
- Escalate complex technical issues to district IT or vendors as needed.
- Notify the Leadership Team of any deadlines missed or support needed.
- Ensure compliance with FERPA, COPPA, and CIPA regulations through appropriate system configurations and monitoring.
- Promote responsible and safe use of technology in an elementary school context.
- Help maintain data security, device integrity, and proper technology utilization.
- Adhere to school and district policies concerning technology and student data privacy.
- Monitor and support GoGuardian.
- Contribute to school-wide initiatives and support various community activities as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as required.
