Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- An Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in C#, .NET Framework / .NET Core, Web Forms, MVC, and Visual Basic .NET.
- Experience with SQL Server, including Stored Procedures, Functions, T-SQL, along with knowledge of data encryption, access control, and auditing practices within SQL Server.
- Strong experience with DevExpress, Reporting, and Console Applications.
- A solid understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and the SOLID principles.
- Familiarity with EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT) and communication protocols (AS2, SFTP, VAN).
- Knowledge of version control systems (Git, Azure DevOps, or similar).
- Proven experience developing or supporting systems that handle PHI according to HIPAA regulations.
- Understanding of secure coding principles (e.g., OWASP Top 10, encryption, input validation, secure authentication).
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and data security issues.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to:
- Develop, test, and deploy .NET applications (including Web Forms, MVC, and Console Apps) with a focus on security, scalability, maintainability, and HIPAA compliance.
- Design user-friendly and responsive interfaces utilizing DevExpress controls and components while ensuring secure client-server communication and access control.
- Maintain, enhance, and debug existing .NET applications and integrations, applying necessary security patches and HIPAA-compliant data protections.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to transform business requirements into secure, compliant, and technically sound solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, and secure code adhering to HIPAA, OWASP, and our organizational coding standards for protecting PHI.
- Conduct code reviews and participate in risk assessments to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches.
- Design, implement, and manage EDI integrations to support the secure exchange of healthcare and business documents such as eligibility, claims, remittance, and encounter files.
- Monitor EDI transaction workflows, ensuring data is encrypted, authenticated, and retained with integrity both in transit and at rest.
- Collaborate with business partners and vendors to establish secure EDI and data transfer protocols in compliance with HIPAA Security Rule requirements.
- Integrate third-party APIs and systems while ensuring secure transmission of PHI.
- Participate in vulnerability scans, penetration testing, and compliance audits as part of our privacy and security program.
- Contribute to discussions around architecture and design focusing on security-by-design and privacy-by-default principles.
- Assist in maintaining documentation related to security controls, audit logs, and procedures for handling PHI.
Description
This position is a full-time role with an annual salary ranging from $75,000.00 to $80,000.00.
