Disaster Recovery AmeriCorps Program - Santa Cruz

- Engage in outreach activities aimed at increasing volunteer recruitment - Respond promptly to volunteer inquiries through email and phone while maintaining a positive attitude - Organize logistics for multiple volunteer groups and serve as their main point of contact - Ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment - Guarantee that all construction work meets high-quality standards - Participate actively in construction projects, completing tasks on schedule, with or without volunteers - Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with team members, staff, homeowners, and volunteers - Be prepared to perform physically demanding labor in various climates over extended periods - When volunteers are present, articulate the homeowners story and educate them about the areas challenges - Communicate daily and weekly objectives clearly to volunteers - Supervise, guide, and provide effective training and constructive feedback to volunteers involved in various construction phases - Act as a liaison between homeowners and volunteers - Follow the sites Construction Manual and Safety Protocol, participating in regular safety trainings - Involve in September 11th Day of Remembrance and Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service events, which may occur on weekends or holidays
