Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with at least 10 years of experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in identifying and addressing OS-level vulnerabilities in both Linux and Windows environments, with a solid grasp of STIG and CIS compliance requirements.
- Comprehensive understanding of cloud security frameworks and industry best practices, such as NIST, CIS, and ISO 27001.
- Proficient in utilizing security tools, including Nessus Tenable, ORCA Security, AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center, and Google Cloud Security Command Center, along with other vulnerability scanning utilities.
- Familiarity with tools like Red Hat Satellite server, WSUS, and IBM BigFix.
- Competence in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, and Ansible for automating security remediation tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of performing under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to convey complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Must be able to obtain public trust clearance before commencing work.
- Commitment to adhering to rigorous security protocols.
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Responsibilities
- Identify and address vulnerabilities within cloud infrastructure, focusing on OS-level threats on various cloud platforms while ensuring compliance with STIG and CIS benchmarks.
- Work alongside the cybersecurity team to carry out regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to pinpoint potential weaknesses.
- Assist in the creation and upkeep of security policies, standards, and procedures for cloud infrastructure in collaboration with the cybersecurity team.
- Coordinate with development and operations teams to guarantee the secure deployment of applications, prioritizing secure configurations and OS-level hardening.
- Monitor security alerts and logs to detect and respond to possible security incidents in cloud environments.
- Remain informed about the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and technological trends relevant to cloud infrastructure and operating systems.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers and team members regarding best practices for security and vulnerability management in cloud settings.
- Document security measures, configurations, and processes for audit and compliance, ensuring they align with organizational standards.
- Collaborate in the maintenance of a continuous monitoring strategy; assist in analyzing detected threats and compliance violations.
