Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree
- A minimum of 9 years experience in Desktop Support and Data Center Operations or equivalent experience in place of a degree
- Proficiency with SCCM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager)
- IAT-II certification (such as Security+)
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
Responsibilities
- Assist in the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of input/output devices across DCSA networks to support IT modernization and initiatives
- Align technical operations with DCSA and DoD standards and best practices to build an adaptable enterprise IT environment
- Develop and maintain enterprise desktop images, including custom workstation images for standalone systems
- Conduct quarterly updates and deliver enterprise desktop images to the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
- Ensure all enterprise endpoints are maintained and secure, complying with security standards
- Identify, log, and manage user-reported issues through our IT incident ticketing system
- Address Tier II technical support tickets escalated to the Desktop Engineering team, escalating further if necessary
- Diagnose and propose solutions for security or functionality issues within desktop images
- Assist users with software installations, peripheral setups, and basic troubleshooting
- Collaborate with DCSA teams to enhance the deployment, patching, securing, and transportation of IT assets
- Analyze deployment failures and recommend improvements to bolster operational efficiency
- Ensure the timely maintenance, restoration, and replacement of IT equipment
- Propose and implement technologies and processes to improve desktop engineering effectiveness
- Maintain documentation for desktop system/network configurations and software inventory
- Contribute to training programs for new technologies and solutions
- Develop a knowledge base to aid in incident investigation, diagnosis, and resolution
