Senior Mission Protection Systems Engineer

Requirements
Must:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
- Bachelors degree with at least thirteen (13) years of relevant experience, or a Masters degree with eleven (11) years of related experience
- Extensive knowledge of Counterspace Mission Protection, including awareness of threats, response options, and related policies
- Competency in integrating counterspace operations into SAP/CAP programs
- Familiarity with stakeholder responsibilities across the protection community, including operators, mission partners, policymakers, and acquisition offices
- Proactive self-starter capable of independently addressing customer needs; adept at conceptualizing solutions for open-ended challenges
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; skilled in collaboration and building consensus among diverse stakeholders
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and sound judgment, particularly when interacting with high-level government executives
- Experience within the Intelligence Community and relevant Department of Defense organizations, particularly in space operations
Responsibilities
- Provide systems engineering and technical services in Chantilly, VA
- Act as the trusted subject matter expert for the government on Counterspace Mission Protection
- Assist in the development of counterspace tactics, including planning, coordinating, and overseeing Mission Protection CONOPS, policies, and frameworks
- Facilitate extensive coordination across various sectors to identify Counterspace Mission Protection requirements and steer resources towards effective solutions
- Serve as the governments expert on the integration of counterspace response strategies
- Contribute operational insights for successful contingency operations
- Conduct detailed reviews and adjustments to protection CONOPS, policies, and organizational agreements
- Develop internal governance documentation related to Mission Protection
- Support Senior Staff during inter-agency meetings by preparing topics, tracking action items, developing briefings, and advising on solutions
