Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree and a minimum of fourteen (14) years of experience; or a Masters degree with twelve (12) years of experience; additional experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Extensive knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), particularly PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server, including installation, patch management, and advanced SQL query optimization.
- Proven expertise in performance tuning, ensuring high availability through methods like clustering/mirroring, and implementing solid backup and recovery plans to prevent data loss.
- Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for securing databases against threats.
- Experience in deploying Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize PostgreSQL/SQL database systems for secure enterprise applications, ensuring high levels of availability and performance.
- Oversee the backend databases for identity and credentialing systems, maintaining accurate digital records with 100% data integrity.
- Apply stringent security measures in line with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to protect sensitive system data, including enforcing access control protocols.
- Devise and implement comprehensive backup and recovery strategies to mitigate the risk of data loss and facilitate rapid restoration of services.
- Troubleshoot database performance challenges, connectivity issues, and investigate potential security breaches.
- Maintain thorough documentation, including audit trails, database parameters, and generate status reports for relevant authorities.
