Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in Oracle and Postgres databases.
- Extensive knowledge of AWS managed databases, especially Aurora, RDS, and Redshift.
- Strong skills in MongoDB and MongoDB Query Language (MQL).
- Solid experience in database failover and recovery procedures, including disaster recovery planning.
- Demonstrated capability in migrating databases from on-premises to AWS environments.
- Proficient in SQL, database design, and data modeling; familiarity with AWS CLI, SDKs, and CloudWatch.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee administration, maintenance, and establish policies to ensure database security and integrity.
- Monitor and enhance database performance, implementing changes and applying updates as necessary.
- Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies, including failover planning and testing.
- Direct migration projects transitioning from on-premises databases to AWS, including planning, execution, and validation of upgrades.
- Ensure database security protocols are enforced, including access controls and audit logging; comply with data privacy laws and regulations.
- Manage and optimize AWS Redshift instances along with other data warehousing solutions for scalable storage and analysis.
- Utilize AWS CloudWatch and similar monitoring tools to maintain database health and performance, automating scaling and alerts.
- Provide support for intricate database challenges, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to integrity, performance, and replication.
