Requirements

Must:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance - Bachelors degree in a related field along with 9 years of relevant experience, or equivalent professional experience in IT design; additional years of experience may substitute for formal education - DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+) - At least 2 years of experience in IT system architecture, with a strong emphasis on technical documentation - Proficient in Microsoft Visio or similar design applications - Advanced security certification (e.g., CySA+, CASP+, CISSP) is preferred - Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions and Network Monitoring Tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Stratosphere, Cisco ISE) - Experience in certifying Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) - Knowledge of network appliances, virtualization platforms, and their security attributes - Understanding of DoD architecture frameworks (DoDAF) and the system acquisition lifecycle

Responsibilities

- Lead the architectural design and modernization of secure systems within the NORAD and USNORTHCOM IT environment - Create and manage system topology diagrams, server room diagrams, and authorization boundary documents using Microsoft Visio and other CAD tools - Design system architectures that adhere to cybersecurity policies such as DoDD 8500.01 and NIST SP800-53 - Act as the key architectural stakeholder for the NITES contract by providing essential design documentation - Actively participate in the Change Advisory Board to evaluate the impact of proposed changes and communicate necessary documentation - Conduct architectural consultations for the Enterprise Continuous Monitoring process, advising on design-level modifications based on security assessments - Collaborate with the Risk Management Framework team, system owners, and other departments to develop and enhance technical design documents - Analyze security findings from scanning tools and translate them into actionable design improvements - Maintain the master inventories of hardware and software components as core architectural artifacts for compliance in eMASS - Innovate and modernize the NITES program by addressing IT service management, network advancements, automation, and cloud transitions - Facilitate working groups for hardware/software inventories and configuration management, providing regular updates to management and government service owners
