Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field with a minimum of nine (9) years of experience; Masters degree with at least seven (7) years; or PhD/JD with four (4) years of relevant experience.
- At least 4 years of direct experience in satellite operations or engineering, particularly with satellite command and control systems.
- Strong knowledge of satellite ground systems, telemetry, tracking, and command (TT&C) operations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with the skill to explain complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Preferred: Experience in mission planning.
- Preferred: Understanding of orbital mechanics and its applications.
- Preferred: Familiarity with satellite subsystems, encompassing power, thermal, and communications aspects.
- Preferred: Knowledge of electro-optical imaging sensor systems.
- Preferred: Proficient in industry-standard tools and software for satellite operations and anomaly resolution.
- Preferred: Experience in a fast-paced mission operations center or mission control environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide real-time support for satellite systems during flight and ground operations, including monitoring, commanding, and troubleshooting activities.
- Engage in anomaly resolution activities, involving identification of issues, analysis, and application of corrective measures. Thoroughly document issues and solutions.
- Work alongside cross-functional teams to enhance the reliability and efficiency of satellite and ground systems.
- Carry out assessments of system performance and create reports for regular operations and anomaly events.
- Support the coordination of satellite mission planning and its execution.
- Use telemetry data for trending and analysis to identify and avoid potential issues.
- Adjust and manage evolving customer priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.
- Collaborate with various contractors to coordinate efforts, address issues, and ensure successful operations execution.
- While shift-work is not mandatory, occasional irregular work hours may be necessary to address anomaly events or mission requirements.
- Expect some travel as part of the role.
