Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree with nine or more years of experience; Masters degree with seven or more years of experience; PhD or JD with four or more years of experience
- Proven experience with waterfall-to-agile transformations for consistent delivery of Minimum Viable Products
- Familiarity with a wide variety of system types including custom developed hardware/software, COTS/GOTS hardware/software, and specialized engineering of unique materials
- Experience in cloud-hosted development, integration, and testing
- Knowledge in implementing cybersecurity measures within existing DoD systems
- Demonstrated expertise in configuring and managing enterprise networking hardware such as:
- Cisco routers and switches (Catalyst, Nexus series)
- Juniper and Palo Alto firewalls
- Cisco ASA and Firepower firewalls
- Wireless controllers and access points
- Strong understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and Layer 2/3 technologies
- Proficiency in WAN technologies (MPLS, VPN, SD-WAN)
- Significant experience with network troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Cisco Prime)
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer needs and tackle exceptionally complex challenges with innovative solutions
- Provide expertise for the maintenance and upgrades of networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and telecom equipment
- Ensure network integrity and connectivity, adhering to compliance standards, and maintain system backup and recovery capabilities
- Assess, evaluate, and devise methods to tackle complex technical issues
- Develop advanced engineering concepts and guide them through to final product realization
- Create sophisticated solutions for various intricate engineering problems
- Undertake comprehensive network and systems design, development, and integration throughout the entire project lifecycle
- Apply advanced engineering principles to complex infrastructures, encompassing the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of network devices, telecom gear, and system management tools
- Design and establish enterprise network architectures focusing on redundancy, scalability, and high availability
- Configure and manage networking equipment from Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto, including routers, switches, and firewalls
- Support and enhance LAN, WAN, MPLS, and wireless network settings
- Ensure compatibility with IPv4 and IPv6 protocols
- Implement security measures, including firewalls and VPN configurations
- Design network segmentation and access controls to safeguard sensitive resources
