Requirements
Must:
- Extensive knowledge of multi-vendor server operating systems
- At least 10 years of experience in monitoring and configuring monitoring systems
- Expert-level experience as a systems administrator with Windows and/or Linux operating systems
- Direct expertise with management protocols such as SNMP and WMI
- Proficient in scripting languages including PowerShell and VBScript
- Experience managing monitoring systems with over 250 hosts and/or over 3000 sensors
- Demonstrated ability to engineer monitoring solutions and foster a collaborative work environment
Responsibilities
- Ensure the effective discovery, monitoring, and management of IT infrastructure including servers, cloud services, networks, applications, and storage systems
- Assist in standardizing and managing a unified configuration management database
- Deploy, manage, and update Management Packs, connectors, and monitoring policies to support application and service monitoring
- Implement Management Packs, custom dashboards, and monitoring automation for proactive issue detection and resolution
- Perform event correlation and filtering to improve incident triage and escalate to appropriate operational teams
- Integrate data from third-party monitoring tools into the unified OBM event console
- Fine-tune monitoring capabilities to provide actionable alerts to operational systems
- Provide support during assessments and service outages to help restore services
- Create alerts based on service availability
- Collaborate with team members to research and implement new monitoring enhancements
- Develop and maintain insightful dashboards on performance and service status
- Optimize monitoring dashboards to oversee health and performance across IT infrastructure components
