Requirements
Must:
- Extensive advanced skills in mainframe technologies, including: JCL, COBOL, VSAM, IMS DB/DC, CICS transactions, SFTP, SORT, IBM Z/OS, and CA7.
- Expertise and experience in mainframe SAS for report creation.
- Proven leadership and proficiency in mainframe and development-supporting tools, such as Endevor, File Aid, JIRA, SNOW, and Microsoft Studio.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
- Knowledge and application of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Familiarity with financial systems and awareness of industry regulations (preferred).
- Prior experience leading technical development teams.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
- At least 14 years of expertise in mainframe development and financial systems support, particularly with IBM mainframe technologies.
- Ability to attain a Position of Public Trust.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain applications utilizing mainframe technologies.
- Serve as a technical resource for mainframe systems, offering guidance and solutions for complex challenges.
- Lead and showcase expertise in mainframe and related development tools, including Endevor, File Aid, JIRA, SNOW, and Microsoft Studio.
- Provide 24/7 on-call production support as necessary.
- Implement best practices for coding, security, Section 508 compliance, and performance improvement.
- Collaborate with business analysts to convert business requirements into technical specifications.
- Engage in code reviews, project planning, and estimations to ensure quality coding through testing and integration practices.
- Formulate and execute strategies for modernizing the mainframe environment while ensuring cost-effectiveness and security compliance.
- Work with cross-functional teams to synchronize mainframe processes and solutions with organizational objectives.
- Manage disaster recovery testing and guarantee system uptime meets or exceeds service-level agreements (SLAs).
