Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree
- Four years of relevant experience
- DoD Secret clearance
- At least one IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CECCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP)
- At least one Computing Environment certification in Network support/defense or Operating Systems
- Proficiency in researching and writing technical documentation
- Experience with MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
- Capacity to handle multiple high-priority tasks in a dynamic environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for various audiences
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to field engineers, technicians, and product support teams
- Address situations where initial support has failed to resolve equipment or software issues
- Report design, reliability, and maintenance issues to engineering teams
- Participate in customer installation and training as required
- Offer support to users with highly technical products
- Interact directly with customers on sophisticated systems-level software
- Communicate with product support personnel and customers when issues cannot be resolved at the first level
- Assist in various tasks as directed by the Service Desk Lead
- Potential to work after-hours or weekends during emergencies or planned events
Description
We are seeking a Help Desk Service Specialist to support the IT Service Desk for USTRANSCOM, located at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois, just 23 miles from St. Louis, MO. Our mission is to provide strategic, technical, and program management support for the operations and modernization of the combatant commands infrastructure. As part of our team, you will assist users in resolving service disruptions and fulfilling service requests, ensuring prompt restoration of normal operations. We offer a full-time work schedule from Monday to Friday, with the possibility of after-hours support during emergencies.
