Hardware Engineer - Fiber optics

- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field - At least two years of relevant experience in hardware engineering focused on fiber optics infrastructure (or four additional years of experience in lieu of a degree) - Proven experience in designing, installing, or maintaining fiber optic networks and integrating with modern COTS systems and components - Proficiency in fiber optic cable termination and splicing using the appropriate tools - Active secret security clearance by the start date - Certification in fiber optics (e.g., ETA Certified Fiber Optic Technician, FOA Certification, or equivalent) is preferred - Familiarity with COTS communication systems utilizing fiber optic infrastructure - Knowledge of Cisco routers and switches (e.g., Catalyst or Nexus models) - Experience with Juniper networking equipment - Understanding of media converters for fiber-to-copper integration and Network Interface Cards (NICs) - Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and AutoCAD - Experience with fiber optics test equipment (e.g., LED and Laser Light sources, power meters, optical time domain reflectometers, etc.) - Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) IA Level II - Security+ certification or equivalent, or willingness to obtain within 180 days of onboarding
