Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline with 18+ years of relevant experience, particularly in mission integration, satellite flight, ground systems, or ground support equipment
- Masters degree in an engineering discipline with 16 years of experience is also acceptable
- Current Top Secret or DoE Q clearance with SCI eligibility, with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI
- Proven track record as an effective engineering manager developing space products and/or systems covering cost, schedule, technical aspects, and risk
- Established expertise in systems engineering specifically for satellite ground systems
- Knowledge of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) principles and practices
- At least 12 years of experience in implementing and managing systems engineering processes on substantial DoD programs
- Familiarity with government contracts, subcontracting, interdivisional agreements, financial operations, and business methods
- Experience overseeing the creation of engineering documentation and procedures, including configuration and risk management
Responsibilities
- Oversee process integrity and critical skills to ensure mission success within acceptable risk levels
- Champion a balanced approach across technical, cost, schedule, and risk elements, fostering collaboration among stakeholders and customers
- Address and resolve critical technical challenges throughout program/project product lifecycles
- Lead and coordinate significant technical interactions and achievements to engage appropriate engineering teams, IRT, and subject matter experts
- Act as the primary interface for technical reviews, ensuring effective communication between program and customer communities
- Ensure that upgrades to architecture and design focus on commonality, optimal resource use, and continuous improvement while minimizing costs and ensuring compliance
- Apply engineering standards to align with customer and industry requirements as defined by agreements
- Assist customers in demonstrating adherence to technical standards, effective engineering processes, and quality assurance
- Aid in transitioning existing ground systems to a cloud-based framework across various classification levels for multiple mission participants
