Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field with at least eighteen (18) years of experience; or a Masters degree with sixteen (16) years of experience; or an additional four years of relevant experience may substitute for a Bachelors degree.
- Current Top Secret clearance with the capability to obtain TS/SCI clearance and a willingness to undergo a polygraph test.
- Proven experience in the development, integration, and operations of space systems within the DoD or other agencies (NRO, NSA, NASA, etc.).
- Demonstrated leadership in systems engineering teams focusing on the integration of complex space and/or ground systems.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with developers to assess software simulators, engineering units, and hardware simulators during integration processes.
- Lead the formation of technical requirements, oversee systems engineering tasks, and manage development contractors for space system design, production, and testing.
- Supervise payload integration and maintain control over interface management.
- Conduct system integration across multiple initiatives, ensuring successful integration of intricate space systems and ground segments.
- Facilitate and negotiate interface control documents with external parties.
- Engage in systems architecting and engineering tasks, including defining system requirements, managing interfaces, and conducting performance and lifecycle cost analysis.
- Ensure verification and validation of requirements is completed effectively.
- Evaluate program risks and offer actionable guidance to the chief engineer and program manager.
- Work independently with representatives from government program offices, FFRDC, SETA, and contractor staff.
