Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional Managed Service Provider (MSP) experience as an IT Support Technician with Help Desk background.
- Deep understanding of Windows desktop and server operating systems; familiarity with Mac OS X/Linux is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proven experience with business applications; proficiency in Office 365 administration is expected.
- Strong customer relations skills, capable of communicating effectively via email, phone, or in-person interactions.
- Experience with remote management tools, such as Datto AutoTask or ConnectWise is preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of networking technologies including routers, firewalls, switches, wireless systems, and structured cabling; experience with Fortinet, Ubiquiti, and Watchguard solutions is a plus.
- Proven ability to document time logs and technical issues comprehensively in ticketing systems and knowledge base documentation; familiarity with HIPAA guidelines is beneficial.
- Capacity to monitor and manage cloud-based backup solutions for clients; experience with Datto is a plus.
- Demonstrated adaptability, efficiency, and continuous self-improvement; the ideal candidate should excel both independently and in a team setting.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation for evenings and weekends.
- Seeking a candidate with robust networking skills interested in evolving into a network engineering role.
- Educational requirement: At least a 2-year technical degree in the IT field.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our team to deliver tier 2 technical support and maintenance for managed service clients throughout South Carolina, addressing issues related to desktops, servers, backup appliances, applications, and networks via RMM solutions, occasionally on-site.
- Engage with end users and customer decision-makers for onboarding processes and project collaboration.
- Generate comprehensive documentation through our ticketing system and internal knowledge base to enhance future ticket resolution and improve departmental efficiency.
- Oversee customer electronics inventory and ensure support adheres to HIPAA regulations as necessary.
- Act as an on-call technician for specific clients requiring extended hours support, including participation in a paid weekend rotation.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned.
