Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred or a minimum of 5 years of experience in automation
- Proficient in robotics including gantry, Cartesian, and SCARA systems, as well as vision systems for assembly and quality verification
- Experience with automated assembly and packaging processes such as ultrasonic welding and heat staking
- Knowledge of PLC and robot programming is advantageous
- Familiarity with SolidWorks and AutoCAD is desirable
- Strong hands-on skills in control wiring and panel building
- Ability to create and implement end-of-arm tooling, fixtures, and equipment
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with management, sales, operations, engineering, and production teams
- Commitment to following safety regulations and maintaining workplace standards
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to assess, develop, launch, and support our automation initiatives
- Retrieve quotes from external vendors for new equipment and modifications
- Ensure compliance with safety standards throughout equipment lifecycle from build to operation
- Oversee the design, programming, and integration of vision systems and manage data export processes
- Facilitate effective communication across different functions to ensure smooth implementation and operation of equipment
- Perform hands-on tasks including control wiring, panel building, and basic fabrication
- Research emerging technologies and propose enhancements to expand our automation capabilities
- Assist operations with manufacturing setups, troubleshooting, and brainstorming solutions
- Work closely with production technicians to diagnose and address issues in existing manufacturing equipment
- Maintain a positive and team-oriented approach when interacting with all staff members
- Uphold safety and work regulations and maintain high standards of departmental cleanliness
