Requirements
Must:
- 7+ years of practical experience in network engineering within enterprise environments
- Extensive knowledge of Cisco enterprise switching and routing solutions
- Proficient in managing Palo Alto firewall systems
- Experience in designing and managing hybrid cloud networks in Microsoft Azure
- Practical experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools
- Strong troubleshooting skills across routing, switching, firewall, and WAN infrastructures
- Experience in supporting high-availability and critical infrastructure systems
- Capability to work onsite and handle physical infrastructure tasks (rack/stack, cabling, equipment installation)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse technical teams
- Preferred: CCIE, CCNP, or PCNSE certification
- Familiarity with Zscaler ZIA/ZPA
- Background in supporting manufacturing or industrial environments
- Knowledge of Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with SolarWinds or similar enterprise network monitoring tools
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to conduct data center and rack installation tasks
Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and support Cisco Catalyst 9000 switch environments, including VLANs, L2/L3 routing, LACP, and gateway redundancy
- Design and manage enterprise routing infrastructure, which encompasses BGP, OSPF, WAN failover, and redundancy strategies
- Oversee IP addressing standards, subnet allocation, NAT policies, and network segmentation
- Maintain and operate secure air-gapped network environments that require strict security protocols
- Design and manage DMZ architectures and partner network interfaces
- Engineer and maintain Palo Alto next-generation firewall platforms, including App-ID, User-ID, Content-ID, IPS/IDS, SSL decryption, and threat prevention
- Manage site-to-site VPNs, GlobalProtect remote access VPNs, and high-availability firewall configurations
- Support Zero Trust network models, including Zscaler ZIA and ZPA configurations
- Design and operate Azure hybrid network architectures, encompassing Virtual WAN, hub-and-spoke networks, and ExpressRoute connectivity
- Configure and manage Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, Azure Front Door, Load Balancers, and Traffic Manager
- Implement network segmentation using NSGs, ASGs, Private Endpoints, and Private DNS
- Build and maintain Terraform modules for Azure network infrastructure while managing Terraform state and version control workflows
- Enforce Azure governance policies and compliance with configurations
- Provide Tier-3 escalation support for network incidents across various infrastructures
- Conduct packet captures, log analysis, traffic flow analysis, and root cause investigations
- Lead incident resolution efforts and document Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Ensure operational stability and service levels for 24/7 manufacturing operations
- Oversee IDF/MDF design, rack layout, cabling strategy, and patching standards
- Collaborate with ISPs, cabling vendors, and field technicians during installations and upgrades
- Support infrastructure upgrades, site buildouts, and network expansion projects
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including network diagrams, IP address schemas, rack elevations, and operational runbooks
- Manage firmware updates, patch cycles, and lifecycle plans for network infrastructure
- Adhere to established change management processes and deployment validation procedures
Description
We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer (Hands-On Technical Lead) who will be responsible for managing and operating our enterprise network infrastructure across various locations, including corporate offices, manufacturing sites, and Azure cloud environments. This role is crucial for the design, implementation, security, and reliability of our network and firewall systems. As the high-impact technical lead, you will collaborate closely with teams such as Cybersecurity, DevOps, Software Engineering, IAM, Automation, and IT Operations while maintaining strong relationships with our vendors and internal stakeholders. The position is based in Santa Clara, CA and may require occasional travel to remote company sites. We offer a competitive salary ranging from $185,000 to $210,000 per year and a dynamic work environment that emphasizes collaboration and innovation.
