Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Database Administration or Data Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with Snowflake
- Proficient in SQL, performance optimization, and data modeling
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS and ETL tools like DBT and ADF
- Preferred qualifications include SnowPro certification, scripting skills in Python, knowledge of CI/CD using Terraform, and experience with BI tools like Tableau or Power BI
Responsibilities
- Oversee the management of Snowflake databases, schemas, roles, and warehouses
- Optimize compute resources to enhance system performance
- Monitor database performance and automate tasks utilizing SQL and Python
- Implement and uphold security policies within the database environment
- Support ETL and ELT pipelines for efficient data ingestion from cloud sources, APIs, and databases
- Ensure effective transformation strategies within the data handling processes
- Tune performance by optimizing queries and implementing clustering and partitioning
- Manage warehouse sizing to maintain a balance between cost and performance
- Safeguard data through encryption, masking, backups, and robust disaster recovery strategies
- Collaborate with engineers and analysts, troubleshoot issues, and share best practices
- Stay informed on the latest updates and advancements in Snowflake technology
