Requirements
Must:
- Expert level SQL Database Administrator with recent hands-on experience in SQL DBA Administration
- Minimum of 6 years experience with SQL Server 2016 or later versions
- Proficient in installing and upgrading SQL Servers, including applying service packs
- Experienced in routine database maintenance activities
- Skilled in creating and scheduling SQL Server jobs for maintenance tasks
- Knowledgeable in rebuilding indexes, updating statistics, and performing consistency checks
- Ability to monitor error logs and event logs for database issues
- Familiar with SQL Server native tools and services such as SQL Profiler and Index Tuning Advisor
- Competent in SQL Server Configuration Manager, Extended Events, and Performance Monitor
- Experienced in managing SQL Server security and auditing practices
- Knowledgeable in capacity planning for storage and database objects
- Experienced in database backup and recovery, including establishing standards and schedules
- Proficient in TSQL coding, tuning, and ETL methodologies
- Knowledgeable in SQL Server High Availability methods such as Mirroring and Always On
- Minimum of 4 years experience in Windows Server Administration
- Skilled in building and maintaining Windows Host and Guest Servers
- Proficient in using PowerShell for administrative tasks
- Familiar with Windows Failover Cluster configuration and maintenance
Responsibilities
- Provide reliable and secure support for production and non-production databases for the Arkansas Integrated Revenue System (AIRS)
- Perform routine database maintenance activities and ensure optimal performance
- Create and schedule jobs to automate database administration tasks
- Monitor and troubleshoot database errors using error logs and event logs
- Manage SQL Server security, including user access and auditing
- Plan capacity for database storage and manage disk space effectively
- Establish and manage database backup and recovery procedures
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity
- Collaborate with team members to optimize database performance and availability
- Maintain documentation for database processes and configurations
