Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 5-6 years of experience in managing cross-functional projects of medium to high complexity
- Experience with IT service management, infrastructure, and support process redesign and documentation
- Proven capability in implementing project-related changes in a 24x7 production environment
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure/datacenter technologies such as server hardware, operating systems, SAN storage, networking equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points), and cloud migrations
- Proficient in project management methodologies, tools, resource management practices, and change management techniques
- Ability to estimate project efforts from functional/technical requirements to aid in planning and scheduling
- Functional understanding of datacenter components and integration of servers, storage, and networking technologies
- Strong technical language skills for effective communication with engineers and translating for business users
- Working knowledge of leading IT industry hardware and software providers
- Knowledgeable about integrating risk management, including security, backup/recovery, and redundancy in technology implementations
- Capable of prioritizing trade-offs among on-time, on-scope, or on-budget delivery
- Skilled in project scheduling and analysis of progress and trade-offs, including the use of automated tools
- Experience in implementing project change processes for scope control
- Strong debating skills regarding project change considerations
- Supports Project and Portfolio Management process implementation
- Excellent communication and organization skills suitable for formal communication plans
- Experience in project risk assessment, monitoring, and mitigation planning
- Previous experience in a Project Management Office or similar structure
- Hands-on experience with systems administration, virtualization platforms, network engineering, or cloud hosting
- Familiarity with telecom vendors for circuit provisioning and Move/Add/Change orders
- Understanding of IT security and compliance
- Project Management certification preferred (such as ITIL, CAPM, PMP) or actively pursuing such certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of infrastructure projects
- Ensure efficient coordination of project teams, delivering projects within timelines and budget constraints, while managing stakeholder expectations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to facilitate successful project outcomes
- Focus on project planning, execution, and delivery, adhering to quality standards
- Develop and manage project budgets, closely monitoring expenditures for effectiveness
- Collaborate with teams to establish project scope, objectives, and deliverables aligned with organizational goals
- Create detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets while identifying necessary resources, milestones, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Proactively assess risks, issues, and dependencies, devising mitigation strategies to limit their impact
- Communicate project status, risks, and successes to stakeholders and provide necessary updates
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and contractors, ensuring effective collaboration throughout the project lifecycle
- Engage in ongoing communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates and managing expectations skillfully
- Ensure adherence to established IT governance frameworks and coordinate completion of governance requirements and expectations
