Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field with over 5 years of pertinent experience in automotive CAE/Durability. - Profound knowledge of explicit finite element analysis (FEA) with substantial hands-on experience utilizing LS-DYNA for full-vehicle dynamic simulations. - Advanced understanding of explicit simulation requirements, including energy plot verification, time step control, and mass scaling. - Strong foundational insight into vehicle suspension systems and overall vehicle dynamic behavior. - Proven capability in correlating simulation models with physical test outcomes. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in producing high-quality technical documentation. - Familiarity with implicit solver software such as Abaqus, OptiStruct, or Nastran for structural durability analysis is advantageous. - Proficiency in pre-processing tools like ANSA and/or Hypermesh is a plus. - Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, MATLAB) for post-processing and automation is a plus. - Experience with durability or crash-oriented load case derivation and standardization is an asset. - Must be at least 21 years old. - No driving-related suspensions or revocation of Driver License within the last 3-5 years. - No drug or alcohol-related driving incidents in the past 3 years. - No more than one serious moving violation in the last 3 years. - Valid drivers license in the state of residence required for vehicle operation. - Subject to continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring.

Responsibilities

- Oversee the setup, execution, and analysis of intricate, full-vehicle explicit dynamic simulations using LS-DYNA. - Create and scrutinize critical scenarios including underbody ground strikes and extreme strength load cases. - Manage and calibrate LS-DYNA material cards, ensuring accurate replication of ductile failure and erosion in vehicle structures. - Rigorously assess simulation results, conducting meticulous checks of energy plots, mass scaling, and solution parameters to confirm numerical stability and precision. - Lead the correlation between simulation models and physical test results, striving for a true representation of real-world behavior. - Collaborate with physical testing teams to provide guidance on test setup, instrumentation, and boundary condition definitions. - Innovate and enhance methods to optimize LS-DYNA processing times for extensive full-vehicle models without sacrificing accuracy. - Offer flexible support for structural durability CAE simulation tasks employing implicit solver technology when necessary. - Prepare clear, coherent technical reports that communicate complex simulation findings into actionable insights for stakeholders. - Utilize pre-processors like ANSA and Hypermesh for model assembly, meshing, troubleshooting, and preparation of model decks.
