Requirements

Must:
- BS in Engineering with 8+ years of experience in Automotive CAE or MS in Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience - Proven expertise in performing Cockpit and Interior Trim analysis using Ls-Dyna, ABAQUS, & Optistruct; familiarity with tools like ANSYS and CAD software such as Catia - Strong knowledge of safety regulations including FMVSS, ECE, NCAP, IIHS, Euro NCAP, and China NCAP, with experience in developing effective countermeasures - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to enhance collaboration and project success - A passionate commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, and the courage to seek assistance when needed

Responsibilities

- Lead subsystem-level Safety, Durability, & NVH CAE analysis of Cockpit & Interior Trim subsystems for Rivians vehicles, including analyses related to airbag deployments and impact loads - Develop and implement analysis plans to optimize Interior Cockpit subsystems and Interior Trims, ensuring that performance meets safety and durability targets - Manage 1-2 concurrent CAE-intensive projects with small cross-functional teams, ensuring high-quality simulation results are delivered on time - Define joint structures and conditions for the Cockpit and Interior Trim systems following simulation standards - Evaluate and enhance subsystem performance to meet regulatory requirements like FMVSS 208 & FMVSS 226 - Identify airbag interaction issues and formulate effective countermeasures - Work closely with Engineering teams to define model contents, loads, boundary conditions, and performance targets - Utilize advanced techniques in Ls-Dyna, Abaqus, & Optistruct for simulating system behavior - Collaborate with material suppliers to obtain CAE material models and assess their applicability for simulations - Illustrate failure modes through various analysis methods and design countermeasures while considering other system requirements - Clearly explain analysis assumptions and principles to Design Engineers for robust design development - Create new analytical methods and virtual validation processes, leveraging automation and AI tools to improve simulation accuracy - Maintain and enhance documentation related to Best Practices, Design Standards, Test Procedures, and Technical Specifications
