Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive), Automotive Technology, or a similar technical field
- 3-5 years of experience in automotive quality or service support, focusing on technical feedback loops between field operations and design teams
- Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret complex field data (warranty claims, Field Product Reports) to detect emerging trends
- Proven capability to manage multiple issues simultaneously, prioritizing based on impact and urgency
- Technical knowledge of automotive systems (electrical, mechanical, software) and vehicle diagnostics
- Strong ability to identify product liability concerns
- Understanding of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and their relevance to vehicle design and manufacturing
- Prior experience in automotive quality, reliability engineering, manufacturing, or field service operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex issues to diverse audiences
- Passion for delivering outstanding customer service and enhancing ownership experience
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, JIRA, Smartsheet, Google Drive, and Excel is advantageous
- ASE Certifications (A1-A8) are preferred but not mandatory
- Willingness to thrive in a cross-functional team environment
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for 8-10 hours daily
- Required to communicate via phone and email
- Competence to view, read, and interpret various documents
- Capability to work in an office environment with ambient noise and temperature changes
Responsibilities
- Employ advanced data analysis techniques on warranty data, Field Product Reports, social media, and Lemon Law cases to proactively identify and escalate product issues and trends
- Assist in PDI and represent the Service organization during new product launches, ensuring early detection of quality concerns and acting as the customers voice
- Identify and prioritize key PDI issues, collaborating with responsible parties to drive rapid resolution and corrective measures
- Monitor and assess PDI performance metrics, providing insights into quality trends and the success of improvement initiatives
- Evaluate Field Product Reports by assessing failure modes, severity, and safety/compliance risks, coordinating with relevant teams to implement solutions and authorize necessary investigations
- Actively engage in cross-functional technical reviews and problem-solving sessions regarding product quality issues
- Pinpoint and support the implementation of process improvements across Manufacturing, PDI, and Service Operations to enhance product quality
- Maintain and execute quality validation protocols for Lemon Law repurchased vehicles to ensure repairs are effective and meet quality standards for resale
- Offer technical expertise and data analysis to back investigations and escalations related to Lemon Law vehicle repurchase claims
- Guide the implementation of Field Service Actions by providing technical insights and takeaways from relevant engineering investigations
