Requirements
Must:
- 7+ years of professional experience in battery, automotive, aerospace, or related fields, specifically in system design and failure analysis.
- A bachelors degree in an engineering discipline.
- Familiarity with battery components, system integration, and high voltage safety protocols.
- Understanding of battery sensing technology and battery management architectural design.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a proven history in rapid root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Proven experience in creating requirements from the ground up using analytical and statistical methods.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities grounded in engineering principles and common sense.
- Experience with vehicle communication bus diagnostic instruments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical topics to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with issue tracking tools such as Jira or Bugzilla.
- A strong collaborative mindset, able to identify process gaps and unite team members around improvements.
- A genuine passion for mentoring and coaching team members, focusing on their skill enhancement, contributions, and job satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support a high-performing team of engineers specialized in battery systems design, control system diagnostics, and electro/mechanical component integration.
- Oversee cross-functional teams in analyzing plant and supplier quality challenges. Drive continuous improvement in production and remanufacturing through actionable corrective and preventive measures.
- Conduct detailed analyses of field and ongoing reliability testing outcomes. Guide root cause investigations and develop effective solutions for implementation.
- Formulate and oversee prognostic and diagnostic strategies to proactively identify potential issues and enhance the overall customer experience.
- Advocate for the enhancement and development of cross-functional processes (including product design, mechanical engineering, operations, service, reliability, and remanufacturing) to close gaps and enhance product performance and next-generation development.
- Ensure integration of lessons learned from production and field experiences into future product and process frameworks. Promote opportunities to refine design and development processes through the strategic adoption of AI and machine learning tools.
