Requirements
Must:
- MS in Engineering or higher.
- 7-10 years of experience with Finite Element Analysis and proficiency in Applied Solid Mechanics and Numerical Methods, including using Altair products for pre-processing (Hypermesh, Simlab, Optistruct) and Dassault products for stress/fatigue solutions (Abaqus, Fe-Safe, and N-code).
- Strong understanding of mechanics of materials, statics, dynamics, fatigue, and sealing.
- Experience with CAD, preferably CATIA.
- Proficient in 2D and 3D modeling, sub-modeling, sub-structures, and sealing modeling (Hyperelastic).
- Skilled in scripting and automation using Python/C+.
- Passion for problem-solving with a methodical approach to identify root causes based on first principles.
- Strong analytical skills to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Energy and curiosity to seek solutions and represent our brand.
- Comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering theories including static, dynamic, fatigue, and vibration analyses.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate during the design phase to analytically validate components and system-level assemblies via FEA against specified requirements.
- Conduct topology optimization that merges strength and NVH objectives to determine necessary ribbing structure within the available package space.
- Execute linear and nonlinear static analyses for complete drive unit systems.
- Perform NVH analyses, including modal, frequency response, and mount mobility assessments.
- Carry out fatigue analyses, taking into account pre-stress from assembly loads and scaling/superposing function loads to mimic duty cycles.
- Conduct sealing analyses with expertise in component hyper-elastic analysis, contributing to the overall system-level seal performance.
- Demonstrate proficiency in understanding loads and their applications across various drive unit components and systems, including boundary conditions.
- Exhibit deep knowledge of topology optimization, effectively blending multiple objectives and constraints.
- Show comprehensive understanding of material strength/fatigue, including the impact of manufacturing on material performance.
- Prepare and present scorecards/reports to support design reviews, highlighting analysis results and providing recommendations for issue resolution.
- Identify root causes for launch or prototype issues through a data-driven approach.
