Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Battery, Automotive, Aerospace, or similar fields, with focused expertise in diagnostic engineering or failure resolution.
- Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline.
- Understanding of battery functionality and high voltage safety procedures.
- Familiarity with battery sensing technology and the architectural design of battery management systems.
- Capability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced setting, emphasizing rapid identification of root causes and implementation of corrective measures.
- Proven experience in developing requirements from ground up utilizing engineering analysis with a strong emphasis on diagnostics.
- Strong analytical skills rooted in core engineering principles, combined with practical experience in root cause analysis.
- Proficient in using vehicle communication bus diagnostic tools.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, to convey complex technical issues to various audiences.
- Familiarity with issue tracking platforms like Jira or Bugzilla.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate expertise in the controlled interactions between the Battery Management System (BMS) and the vehicle, with a deep understanding of battery measurement and control architecture.
- Direct diagnostic evaluations to uncover the root causes of HV Energy Storage System (ESS) failures at the customer level, utilizing BMS and vehicle data analytics.
- Assist in battery production and vehicle assembly by analyzing end-of-line failure data and, when necessary, providing on-site support for critical cross-functional issues.
- Collaborate with teams from Field Reliability, Field Service, Failure Analysis, Battery Production, Plant Quality, and Battery Remanufacturing to ensure synchronized efforts on cross-functional challenges and necessary mitigation strategies.
- Innovate and propose enhancements to the BMS and vehicle diagnostic methodologies to reduce customer impact and streamline the failure analysis process in the field.
- Partner with the HV battery platform team focused on new product architecture development to embed field-related insights and enhance next-generation designs.
