Requirements
Must:
- B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Over 10 years of experience in vehicle or subsystem development, including a complete product lifecycle from concept to production
- Proficiency in developing timing plans and managing requirements systems
- Thorough understanding of functional vehicle systems and design principles
- Familiarity with automotive regulatory and certification requirements
- Experience with validation testing for full vehicles and/or subsystems
- Strong problem-solving abilities, adept at anticipating and resolving potential obstacles in automotive development
- Excellent communication and organizational skills to ensure clear expectations and effective execution of vehicle performance initiatives
- Standard working hours: 8 am - 5 pm
- Willingness to travel at least twice per quarter
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough product research to identify industry trends and opportunities for future product differentiation
- Compile a detailed database of key benchmarking metrics from the competitive landscape
- Work collaboratively with sub-attribute and subsystem teams to establish product performance targets in line with program initiatives and competitive analysis
- Define and maintain performance targets and their statuses within the requirements management database
- Balance competing performance constraints between sub-attributes to enhance overall vehicle performance
- Facilitate regular cross-functional design reviews to monitor status updates, address issues, and mediate between sub-attributes
- Collaborate with attribute and subsystem teams to create design validation plans (DVPs)
- Coordinate with the Test & Development (T&D) team to allocate DVPs to test blocks on validation assets and monitor their progress
- Conduct regular key milestone status reviews with program leadership to report on overall attribute health and implement action plans for any performance deficiencies
