Requirements

Must:
- An MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Electronics or Controls (MSc with 3+ years of experience, PhD preferred). - Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of power electronics control, complemented by excellent analytical abilities. Familiarity with AC/DC, DC/AC, and DC/DC resonant converter topologies (such as Vienna, Totem Pole, DAB, LLC, CLLC). - Proven capability to navigate ambiguity and develop robust control algorithms from the ground up, including software architecture, implementation, integration, and testing. - Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and verifying control algorithms for switching power converters using both simulation and hardware platforms. - Expert proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and familiarity with power converter modeling tools (e.g., PLECS) and real-time simulation platforms (like Opal-RT, Typhoon HIL). - Solid programming abilities in C/C++ and Python, with an emphasis on producing high-quality code for embedded systems. - A proactive and self-motivated attitude with a keen attention to detail, excelling in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

- Designing and refining control algorithms for a varied range of power electronics applications, such as EV chargers, bidirectional residential systems, and onboard vehicle power. - Employing advanced simulation tools to assess circuit topologies and components, ensuring optimum performance and efficiency. - Translating application requirements into concise and effective controller specifications. - Innovating and applying novel control strategies at both system and component levels. - Rigorously testing and troubleshooting control algorithms in both simulated and physical hardware settings. - Developing intricate power electronics models to analyze and validate controller robustness and performance across all operating conditions. - Establishing comprehensive tests to ensure algorithms efficacy and their compatibility with other system features. - Collaborating closely with talented system, electrical, and software engineers to achieve ambitious project goals.
