Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field - Over 3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting - Proficient in developing, validating, and implementing Calypso programming for various assemblies - Skilled in programming, setting up, and operating Zeiss Calypso inspection systems - Strong expertise in using surface plates, sine plates, and height stands, including those with compound angles - Ability to analyze measurement data against established process or design limits, and identify trends for action - Experience in optimizing inspection techniques to enhance throughput of Calypso inspections - High proficiency in Zeiss Calypso programming, including PCM and macros - Excellent problem-solving abilities, adaptable to both quiet lab environments and high-pressure production situations - In-depth knowledge of GD&T and Six Degrees of Freedom (6DOF), with the capability to explain and apply constraints on various geometries - Persuasive in influencing engineering and maintenance teams based on measurement data - Familiarity with CATIA or similar CAD software for design purposes - Relevant manufacturing or assembly experience focusing on areas like drivetrain castings, battery modules, or aerospace assemblies

Responsibilities

- Develop and sustain automated, production-ready programs for dimensional inspection of components and assemblies using Zeiss Calypso Software - Conduct dimensional inspections using various metrology equipment, including vision systems, CMM, and 3D laser scanners - Contribute to the formulation of methods to evaluate product and process quality - Analyze measurement data to identify trends, assess capabilities, and recommend functional enhancements - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address problem-solving needs - Design a strategic plan to create systems and metrics that enhance productivity within the organization - Innovate methods to accurately and precisely assess automotive components and assemblies - Read and interpret engineering drawings and CATIA CAD models accurately - Lead efforts to standardize and optimize the methods and techniques for production measurements - Assist in the development and upkeep of operational documentation - Promote improvements in product and process quality through effective recommendations - Undertake additional duties as necessary - Potentially travel to support product and process development across Rivian facilities
